‘WITH NEW SKILLS AND TOOLS, WE CAN HELP OUR CUSTOMERS MUCH BETTER’

Muhammed Kawanguzi has been working as a mechanic at Kyanja Auto Garage for quite some time, but he admits that he and his colleagues previously had no idea how to properly run their business. “We knew we could repair cars, but we had no idea how to treat customers or how to organize our work professionally,” Muhammed says. “We were constantly making mistakes, had poor bookkeeping, and it felt like we were losing money every day.”

The biggest problem was that there was little structure in their work. “Customers didn’t come back often because we didn’t know how to satisfy them,” he explains. “We did what we could, but without proper knowledge of customer management, technical skills, and business efficiency, it was hard to keep our heads above water.”

THE HELP OF MAKANIKA AND GERED GEREEDSCHAP

The breakthrough for Muhammed and his colleagues came when Makanika selected them for professional training. “When we started the trainings from Makanika, we not only learned how to improve our technical skills but also how to deal with customers and organize our administration better,” says Muhammed. “That changed everything.”

Thanks to the training, their approach became much more professional. They learned to treat customers with respect and ensured that their work was well documented. This led to much better customer satisfaction. “We went from three or four customers a day to seven or eight,” he says proudly. “Our customers now come back and even refer their friends to us.”

Additionally, with support from Gered Gereedschap, they received tools that made their work easier and more efficient. “Previously, we worked with old and sometimes broken tools, which made our work even harder,” Muhammed explains. “But with the new tools, we can now work faster and more precisely. This has really made a difference.”

A PROFESSIONAL WORK ETHIC

Besides the technical improvements, Muhammed and his team’s attitude changed drastically. “Before, we were only interested in making money, without caring about what the customer thought of our services,” he admits. “But through the training, we learned how important it is to have a good relationship with our customers. This not only increased our customer base but also improved our reputation.”

The training from Makanika dot com and the support from Gered Gereedschap have completely changed their work ethic. They now work with a much higher level of professionalism, something that has significantly increased their success. “We now have well-organized bookkeeping, know exactly how much we are earning, and make sure our customers are satisfied. That was unthinkable before,” says Muhammed.

THE ROAD TO SUCCESS

The changes have transformed Kyanja Auto Garage into a thriving business. “Now we have many customers every day, and most come through word of mouth because people are satisfied with our work,” Muhammed says with a smile. “We know what we’re doing now, and that feels good.”

Muhammed is very grateful for the help they received. “Without Makanika and Gered Gereedschap, we would never have come this far. We have not only learned how to be better mechanics but also how to grow our business,” he says. “I am confident that our garage has a bright future ahead.” With their renewed approach and professionalism, Muhammed is optimistic about what the future holds. “We are now well-organized and professional in our work. That gives me confidence that we will only get better,” he says. “The future looks bright, and I am sure we can grow even more.”
