‘AS A TRAINER, I SEE THE GROWTH AND FEEL THE ENTHUSIASM OF THE STUDENTS.’
Ishmael Wilson, Metalworking Teacher, Technology Solutions Center (TSC), Goaso
‘The new tools and support from Gered Gereedschap have had a great positive impact on our training program. Those tools really make a difference: they have solved previous issues with a lack of resources and have led to a more effective and engaging learning experience for the students. It’s also great to see that the number of female students has grown significantly thanks to the collaboration.
The trainings and the revised curriculum have significantly changed my approach to teaching metalworking. During the trainings, I gained technical knowledge about working with machines that were previously unfamiliar to me. I can now better pass on this knowledge and experience to my students. It’s wonderful to see how they embrace the new experiences and apply them effectively. As a teacher and trainer, it is incredibly rewarding to see the growth and enthusiasm of the students.’
WHAT HAVE WE ACHIEVED TOGETHER?We have given 75 young people from cocoa farming families – with a special focus on girls – the opportunity to build a future as metalworkers. The metalworking training has been professionalized by, among other things, equipping workshops with tools and machines, training teachers, refining the curriculum, and providing starter kits.
