‘THE COLLABORATION WITH GERED GEREEDSCHAP HAS IMPROVED OUR TRAINING METHODS’
Steven Bateire is an automotive technology instructor at the Prime Vocational Institute (PVI) and has been involved with the institution from the very beginning. In this interview, he shares his experiences and highlights the crucial role that Gered Gereedschap has played in enhancing the quality of education at the institute.
Steven, can you tell us about your role as an instructor and the changes you’ve seen since the founding of PVI?
“Since the establishment of PVI, I have been working here as an automotive technology instructor. In the beginning, we faced significant challenges, particularly in terms of practical training. We didn’t have the right tools and machines to effectively train our students. This made it very difficult to ensure the quality of our education.”
How has Gered Gereedschap contributed to the improvement of the program?
“The support from Gered Gereedschap has been crucial to the development of our program. They provided us with high-quality tools that enable us to effectively train our students. Thanks to these tools, our students are much better prepared for the job market and perform better compared to students from other institutions. This has not only improved the quality of our education but also enhanced the opportunities for our students after graduation.”
What other support has Gered Gereedschap provided to the instructors?
“In addition to the tools, we as teachers have also received training, including in the use of computer and ICT skills. This training has significantly improved our teaching methods. The students benefit from this too, as they are now better able to understand and apply the course material.”
What impact have you noticed from the scholarships provided by Gered Gereedschap?
“The scholarships provided by Gered Gereedschap have had a huge impact on our students. In the past, we often had students who couldn’t attend school due to financial difficulties. This led to a lot of setbacks because we had to constantly catch them up on the material. Now, our students are always present in class, which makes teaching much more efficient. These scholarships have ensured that even the underprivileged have the opportunity to pursue vocational education.”
